Mexico, collision between trucks carrying migrants: 53 dead

At least 53 victims of the accident involving two trucks with migrants on board in Chiapas, in southern Mexico. The victims were on board the trailer of one of the trucks that capsized in the crash, the prosecutor’s office said. There are also dozens of injured. The crash was reportedly caused by one of the two trucks that took a corner too fast. The Mexican president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, expressed, in a message on Twitter, his condolences for the accident that caused the death of “migrants from Central America, it is very painful”. The governor of the state, Rutilio Escandon, expressed solidarity with the families of the victims, promised prompt assistance to the injured and an investigation to establish the responsibility for the accident.
