Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new trailer for the film Matrix Resurrections. The trailer suggests that the story could take place in time loops. The similarity with the works from the original trilogy can be seen in various shots. Neo (Keanu Reeves) gradually begins to remember what had happened before. Although it is not clear what exactly is going on, the connection is clear.

The protagonist will once again have to find his way to the beloved Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss). It is not yet clear how they will return to the story, as they both died at the end of the third part. In the fourth sequel, they will not know each other, they will only feel that they have met before.

In addition to subtle hints, the trailer promises full action, tough fights and greatly improved Nea’s abilities. Again, we have the opportunity to see young Morpheus, but also the appearance of a potentially new agent, Smith, played by Johnathan Groff. From the first trailer, it is clear that Thomas (alias) Neo lives a seemingly ordinary life, he remembers nothing, he only has flashes and his therapist prescribes blue drugs. However, when Morpheus offers him a red pill, his mind reopens to the Matrix.

The fourth episode of The Matrix, which takes place 20 years after the last episode, was to have its premiere in theaters at HBO Max. The audience was to see it on December 22, 2021, but due to current anti-pandemic measures, the premiere date will probably change. Until then, we will probably lose the trailers a few more times. What is certain, however, is that Neo and Trinity will be at the center of the story again, and this also fits with the version that Nea representative Keanu Reeves himself talked about. It will also be a love story that he personally looks forward to.

“We have an amazing director Lana Wachowski and she wrote a beautiful screenplay – about a love story, it’s an inspiring and amazing story that resonated with me. That’s the only reason we did it. Working with her again is just amazing. It was really exceptional and I think the story tells the audience a few important things we can draw from in life. ” Reeves said some time ago.
