KOŠICE. An amount of four million euros will go to the completion of the Košice Football Arena as a sports infrastructure of national importance.

This is stated in a proposal from the workshop of the Ministry of Education, which was approved by the government on Wednesday.

The funds in question were originally to be provided on behalf of the Support Fund sports in 2022.

“After the approval, the complex will be used for organizing events with a domestic and international dimension. At the same time, it will create conditions for better preparation and improvement of the training process for children, youth, sports talents, seniors, but also for sports representation and will meet modern standards that will enable sports for disadvantaged groups and the general public, “the document said.

According to the material, the entire stadium construction project is based on the initiative of the Slovak Football Association (SFZ) and the Government of the Slovak Republic from 2013 to finance the reconstruction, modernization and construction of football stadiums for the years 2013 to 2022.

The document also states that the Košice Football Arena project is one of the priorities, including the intention to finance the construction and modernization of sports infrastructure of national importance for a period of seven to 10 years, which will be submitted to the government in the coming period. due to the readiness and need to draw funds in 2022.
