The west of Slovakia is waiting for the heaviest snowfall this winter. Up to 30 centimeters of fresh snow should fall. It is already snowing heavily in Bratislava and its surroundings, the roads are wet. The situation will not calm down, on the contrary, it will continue in the afternoon.

Meteorologists point out the adverse weather situation, which poses a danger to traffic, the movement of people and other human activities.

“We expect the most unfavorable situation in western Slovakia and in the west of the Banská Bystrica region, where it usually attacks 10 to 20, rarely up to about 25 cm of new snow. The snow will be locally wet – the so-called sticky, which can damage its roofs, trees, power lines and other objects due to its weight. At the same time, snow and snow will be formed locally in the south-west of the area due to wind and snow in the morning and morning. At the same time, they recommend considering the need for transport and not moving under snow-covered trees, advises meteorologist Miroslav Šinger.

Police are urging people not to travel

The police of the Regional Transport Inspectorate in Bratislava call on drivers to be extra careful in road traffic, in connection with the expected snow disaster in the entire Bratislava region.
