There are almost 3,500 patients in the hospitals

There are 3479 patients with COVID-19 in hospitals, 609 patients in JIS and OAIM, 310 people need support for artificial lung ventilation. Almost 73 percent of those hospitalized are not vaccinated or have only one dose of vaccine.

Almost 2.7 million people have the first dose of the vaccine in Slovakia, almost 2.5 million have the second dose and about half a million people have the third dose of the vaccine.

NCZI is changing the methodology of data collection

Due to a practical overview for citizens as well as for health care providers, the National Center for Health Information (NCZI) changed its data collection methodology on 8 December. “The new data source contains individual records of vaccinated persons and describes more precisely how the aggregated data source used so far,” NCZI spokeswoman Alžbeta Sivá informed.

Therefore, due to changes in the methodology of the vaccine data source, the NCZI draws the public’s attention to the difference in the number of administered vaccines presented in recent days, which will be uniform from today. “This is due to the fact that in agreement with all partners (NCZI, IZA-MZ SR) the data source for reporting was unified. NCZI proceeded to automate data collection, which will be uniform for all reporting tools,” she added.
