First victory! Slovak handball players confirmed their role as favorites and defeated Tunisia – Športky.sk

LLÍRIA – Slovak handball players scored their first victory at the World Championships in Spain. In Wednesday’s duel II. groups for the Presidential Cup in Llíria defeated Tunisia 31:27. The Slovaks did not advance to the main stage at the championship and are fighting for 25th to 32nd place.

After the embarrassing opening ten minutes, coaches Pavel Streicher took control of the action on the board, turned the score around and controlled the development of the match until the end. The best scorer of the Slovak team was Réka Bíziková with nine goals.

Slovaks in II. the Presidential Cup group will also meet with Paraguay (Friday, December 10 at 3 p.m.) and China (Sunday, December 12 at 3 p.m.). At the end, they will have a meeting for the final placement. They lost all three duels in the basic group.

It took the Slovak team ten minutes to start confirming the role of a clear favorite. The Tunisians scored the opening two goals of the match, on the other hand, Bajčiová prevailed for the first time in the 5th minute. However, her team struggled in the transition to the attack and in the end, and the outsider still led 4: 3 in the 10th minute. However, this was followed by a five-goal string of the Slovak team, which marked a turnaround in the score and development of the duel.

The Slovaks led for the first time after a quick counterattack and the end of Réka Bíziková at 5: 4 and in the 14th minute after Szarková’s goal it was already 8: 4 from their point of view. The game was directed by Slovakia, the lead increased by a difference of seven goals (12: 5 and 14: 7). Omrani came to the Tunisian goal and her teammates missed a short run for three goals during the break.

The start of the second half clearly belonged to the Slovaks, their five-goal line ended with Rebičová at 22:14. Streicher’s party then checked a comfortable lead and scored a mandatory victory, although in the end it allowed the African representative to correct the score to an acceptable difference.
