India, helicopter crashes with Chief of Defense Staff on board

An Indian Air Force helicopter with 14 people on board, including the Chief of Defense Staff, Bipin Rawat, crashed in Tamil Nadu. According to police reports, the incident took place near Coonoor, in the Nilgiris district, while the vehicle, which took off from the Sulur base, was headed for Wellington. Rescue teams are present on site. Tamil Nadu Forest Minister K Ramachandran, who visited the crash site, told Indian media that seven bodies have been recovered so far. There are also three seriously injured, taken to hospital.
