Wednesday, December 8, 2021 promises to be a very complicated day in Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne).

At the call of the departmental federation of agricultural operators’ unions (FDSEA) and young farmers of Tarn-et-Garonne, farmers will indeed demonstrate in the prefecture of Tarn-et-Garonne to challenge the public authorities concerning the future of the agricultural world in France.

Complicated circulation

From 10 a.m. the farmers plan to gather at three points in the department: at the roundabout of Aussonne, at that of Albasud and at the roundabout of Montbeton near the Bexianis farm.

As you approach these roundabouts, traffic may be very complicated. Snail operations are not to be ruled out.

Highways impacted?

The A 20 and A 62 motorways as well as the Montauban ring road could be affected.

Traffic could be very disrupted on the A20, Montauban bypass as well as on the A62 motorway, especially between Toulouse and Montauban. The disruptions should occur early in the morning and may last throughout the day.

The company which manages the two highways recommends that users plan their journeys in advance, in particular between their home and work, and to be well informed before taking the road in these sectors.

Other measures have also been taken by the authorities:

Retailers in the city center are invited to adjust the opening hours.

Public and private schools as well as public and private colleges and high schools in Montauban will be closed. A decision of the Departmental Directorate of National Education.

Already a huge blockage in 2018

In 2018, farmers blocked the A 20 motorway for several days, in both directions, near Montauban.

The blockade had lasted for more than a week.
