From December 15

First, from December 15, only 5 to 11 year olds at risk of developing severe forms of Covid-19 will be able to be vaccinated. Concretely, these are children suffering from co-morbidities or living in the entourage of fragile people.

Second stage on December 20

For the others, i.e. 6 million children aged 5-11, the executive plans to expand immunization from December 20, subject to the advice of health authorities and the National Ethics Council before the end. of the year. “We organize all the logistics (…) so that when the time comes, we can start vaccinating (them) without delay”, affirmed, Monday, Olivier Véran. “In practice, it could start around December 20 for vaccination centers, December 27 for city medicine and pharmacies”, he added.

In short, from January, vaccination should open, without obligation, to all children aged 5 to 11 years. In the meantime, according to data from Public Health France, 3,940,605 children and adolescents, aged 12 to 17, have received at least one dose of the vaccine. They are part of the 51,971,769 French people who have already reached out at least once.
