Prime Minister Jean Castex announced on Monday that nightclubs would be closed for the next four weeks, until “early January”, because the virus circulates a lot among young people, even vaccinated, and that wearing a mask is “extremely difficult in these establishments”.

The nightclubs – which represent 30,000 direct jobs and a billion euros in annual turnover according to professional unions – had already remained closed for sixteen months because of the Covid, and had only reopened, under conditions, on July 9. .

The Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Alain Griset, was to consult on Tuesday from 1 p.m. event professionals and nightclubs. Partial activity will be reinstated in these two sectors, Minister of Labor Elisabeth Borne announced on Tuesday morning.
