Authorities say a 10-year-old girl is among the injured.

According to Deputy Mayor Anastasia Rakovova, the incident occurred at 3:00 p.m. local time at the reception of the multifunctional public services center in Moscow. According to her, the attacker was a man who came to the office to get a passport. According to an Interfax source, the man started shooting at people after a security guard asked him to put on mask.

According to Rakovová, a security guard and an official died in the shooting. One man and one woman and the said ten-year-old girl were injured, all in serious condition.

He tried to hide

Russia’s Interior Ministry said the attackers were a 45-year-old Moscow resident and tried to hide after the shooting. He has already been taken to the police station and undergoes a psychiatric examination.

The police officer, who was at the scene, “managed to catch and neutralize the attacker,” the ministry added.

Several agencies also reported that the attacker was a former soldier. They did not disclose the shooter’s identity yet. The investigation of the case was launched by the Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation, which deals with serious crimes.
