The weather in Western Europe began to be affected by the deep pressure below Daniel. This brings a very strong wind to the Benelux countries and the north of Germany, which exceeded 120 km / h in gusts.

The middle of the pressure was below Denmark on Wednesday at 21:00. Very cold air penetrates the edge of Western Europe along its edge, which starts a colder period there.

In addition to cooling, it is accompanied by strong winds. The strongest winds blow in the north of Germany, especially in the coastal areas. The Alte Wesser station, located in the North Sea, recorded a wind gust of up to 126 km / h at 20:00.

On land, the wind reaches 100 km / h

Strong winds are still avoiding the mainland. During the night, however, it intensifies in the north of Germany but also in Denmark. The wind there can exceed a speed of 100 km / h in gusts.

At higher altitudes it will be even stronger, on the Brocken mountain wind gusts with a speed of 140 km / h have already been recorded between the afternoon.

Strong winds are already causing damage in Hamburg. According to the t-online.de portal, some train connections in the area have already had to be interrupted. A tree fell on the track between Flensburg and Schleswig.

German meteorologists issued a 2nd degree warning against a strong gust of wind in connection with the passage of the pressure. In coastal areas, they even warn 3rd degree. In Germany, a 4-level alert scale is used. Firefighters in the area had to intervene in almost forty cases.

The wind will start to stop during the night

The strong wind starts to stop during the night. The reason will be that the center of the pressure below will move further over the Baltic Sea.

They have to reckon with dangerous weather in the north and northeast of Germany and in the second half of the night in Poland.

The wind is expected to calm down on Thursday, but the pressure will bring a mass of cold air to Western Europe.
