Covid Russia, Putin calls for a plan against Omicron

-

Confirmed in the last 24 hours in Russia 32,837 cases of covid and 1,226 deaths. As of now, no omicron infections have been recorded. But President Putin has instructed the government to define an action plan updated to the new variant by next week. The validity of the ‘green passes’ obtained with a molecular test has in the meantime been reduced from 72 to 48 hours. And Russians returning home from countries with which connections have not been restored will have to remain in quarantine for 14 days. The Russians are being asked, for now without constraints, not to plan holidays abroad for the New Year holidays. At least 1,500 Russian tourists are now blocked in South Africa.
