For the Sidaction, these sex scenes have been changed and that changes everything – The HuffPost

SIDACTION – Get out covered. On the occasion of World AIDS Day, this December 1, Sidaction unveiled Unforgettables, a game to raise awareness about wearing a condom during sexual intercourse. On the dedicated website, Internet users must find the names of films whose love scenes have been reproduced, but with one more detail: a condom.

“In your cult films and series, these scenes have been forgotten”. This is the message displayed by theSidaction association who fights for AIDS research for over 25 years. “Our favorite films and series are often accompanied by sex scenes that mark us for a long time. However, there is an essential gesture that they forgot to leave in our memory ”, estimates the association.

This gesture is that of wearing a condom, the only effective bulwark against the disease of AIDS, and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

And indeed, in fictions, the actors are hardly ever represented wearing protection, or even looking for one. It is however an essential gesture to fight effectively against the disease.

34% of young people use condoms

According to Public Health France, 13% of new discoveries of seropositivity concern young people under 25 years old. “Young people hear little about HIV, especially at school. The sexuality education sessions are compulsory in theory, but in practice their implementation is insufficient ”, explains Florence Thune, Managing Director of Sidaction in a press release.

“It is urgent to set up comprehensive sexuality education in schools and in structures for adolescents and young people who are not in school. All subjects must be addressed: discovery of one’s body, consent, sexually transmitted infections, incitement to screening, variety of prevention methods, sexual orientations… Young people must be encouraged to talk to each other, to express what interests them and, to From this dialogue, the questions of prevention will arise ”, declares Florence Thune.

Barely a third (34%) of sexually active young people say they have systematically used a condom during their sexual intercourse in 2021, according to an Ifop poll for Sidaction. This is 9% less than in 2020. To remedy the misinformation of young people on the subject, Sidation is therefore focusing on a subject that speaks to the greatest number of them: films and series.

These are increasingly easy to access on the platforms, and are a dream teaching tool. However, they don’t always send the right message. Unforgettables, Sidaction’s awareness campaign remedies this blunder and recreates or adds a scene in cult films. In Twillight, La Casa de Papel or Titanic, the scenes of sexes, cults, are updated and the Net surfers must guess which film it is question.

If the game isn’t that straightforward, it’s a good way to get the message out about an important topic.
