BMW is shocking again. The prototype of the all-new XM with up to 750 horsepower clearly indicates the brand’s new design direction – REFRESHER

He has probably noticed that BMW is once again pouring oil into the fire in discussions about car design.

In addition to the ever-expanding mask, or if you want kidneys, the German manufacturer plans to divide the headlights into two floors. This should happen for the first time in a few months with the modernization of the X Seven and then with the intergenerational replacement of the 7 Series. After spy photos, this is now confirmed by the upcoming completely new XM model.

After the famous M1, the second own model of the BMW M division will bear such a designation, which will also represent its most powerful work in history. In the light of previous information and speculation, it is clear that there is a huge SUV at stake, which will arrive with a defiant design.

The huge mask with illuminated kidneys is complemented by narrow headlights, while the main ones are discreetly hidden in a black element with the knowledge below. In addition to the largest kidneys the carmaker has ever used, we are also witnessing the largest wheels – up to 23 “discs are hidden in the square fenders.

Aesthetic creations also continue in the back. The narrow taillights extend significantly to the side. The brand logo is not in the middle at the back, but on both sides of the upper corners of the window. The BMW team refers to the famous M1.

The icing on the cake is the exhaust system – the ends are up to 4, located above each other and have a hexagonal shape. Of course, so far it is an XM with the Concept supplement, but the design itself, including those terminals, is almost identical to the standard version, which will come next year.

XM does not hide its design even in the interior. At the heart of the futuristic dashboard is a curved widescreen display that combines digital alarms and the iDrive 8 touch screen into a single unit.

However, not all physical controls will disappear from the cockpit, as they will find their place in the center tunnel, as is customary in the brand’s current models. The interior is also to offer high quality workmanship and exceptionally valuable materials in its production form – copper or carbon decors and numerically represented leather with diamond stitching.

Especially when looking into the cockpit, we can conclude that we are looking at the final solution, which will get many common elements from the recently introduced iX electric car. In contrast, under the hood of the XM model, we find a petrol V eight, which will be accompanied by plug-in hybrid technology under the name M Hybrid. The combined power of the electric motor and the eight-cylinder fork will be up to 550 kW / 750 hp, in the presence of a torque of 1,000 Nm.

Speed ​​parameters have not been specified yet, the carmaker only states that in pure electric mode, XM should be able to cover 80 kilometers under ideal conditions.
