Israel’s Health Minister says there are “indications” that the vaccine protects against the omicron variant

(CNN) – Israeli Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz said Tuesday that “evidence” shows that people who have received the coronavirus booster are “protected” against the new omicron variant.

“We have indications that people with backup are protected and there is no reason to panic,” Horowitz said during a news conference at the Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheba.
