There are 39,716 new cases of Covid, registered in the last 24 hours in Great Britain, while 159 people have died from complications from Coronavirus. The British health authorities report this, reporting a decrease in the number of infections compared to yesterday, but an increase in victims. In fact, on Monday 42,583 cases were confirmed and 35 deaths. British Health Minister Sajid Javid has launched an appeal to be vaccinated in order to spend Christmas with loved ones during a press conference with Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Compared to the new Omicron variant, Javid said scientists are working day and night to buy time to slow the spread of the coronavirus and strengthen our defenses. Javid recalled that around 150 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in the UK and has given more booster doses than in any other country except China and the US.
