Schools will not close in general, Zemanová said after the coalition council – SME.sk

BRATISLAVA. The governing parties as a whole have not agreed on the form of 500-euro vouchers for pensioners, if they can be vaccinated.

This follows from the statement of the chairwoman of the party’s parliamentary group Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) Anna Zemanová for the SITA agency.

“We insist on our position, we do not agree with the 500-euro contribution,” Zemanová said. This means that the government and parliament are likely to negotiate the introduction of 500-euro vouchers without the consent of the SaS.

“We did not see a specific proposal, but it is possible that it will be organized in this way,” said the head of the SaS club.

The decision is up to the regional hygienists

The state wants to provide 500 million euros to operations that suffered damage during the disease pandemic COVID-19. This solution was proposed by the Minister of Finance Igor Matovic (OĽANO) last week on Friday.

The money is to come to them through vaccinated pensioners, their children or grandchildren, who will use 500-euro vouchers in selected businesses and services. SaS soon responded by agreeing to a reward of 150 euros and vetoed another increase.

Even before the coalition council, it was announced that the partners would also talk about the general closure of schools in connection with the pandemic. Movement Ordinary people and independent personalities (OĽANO) was of the opinion that schools should be closed.

Zemanová told SITA that the schools remain centrally open and it is up to the regional hygienists to assess the situation in the region.

“It would be best for individual schools to judge each other. There are also schools where she is college vaccination children and teachers and it is a pity if, by some decision of the hygienist, the schools for the whole district were closed, which may not be, ”explained Zemanová. At the same time, she asked hygienists to assess the situation in individual schools individually.

SaS has no problem with the state budget law

The law is waiting for the parliament to conclude the sitting on the state budget, as well as the Constitutional Act on Budgetary Responsibility.

In October, Minister Matovič conditioned the final form of the budget for 2022 by approving, for example, the constitutional law on budgetary responsibility.

Zemanová has recently stated after the coalition council that the law on the state budget is not related to the law on budgetary responsibility.

“The law on the state budget is independent of whether or not we agree on a law on budgetary responsibility,” she said. According to her, it is still being negotiated. She added that SaS has no problem with the state budget law as presented.
