The Italian football club SSC Napoli unveiled a statue of Diego Maradon before the home game against Lazio. This week has been the year the Argentine died at the age of 60. The creators captured Maradona in a running pose, with the ball on his right knee. The statue stands on a pedestal in the shape of number 10.

Naples has invited many former teammates of the legendary footballer to the match against Lazio. In addition to Naples owner Aurelio de Laurentisi, FIFA President Gianni Infantino also sat in the stands. As last week, Naples footballers wore T-shirts with Maradon against Inter.

The Argentine played for Naples from 1984 to 1991. He gave the club two league titles (1987, 1990) and in 1989 won the UEFA Cup.
