Coronavirus: Thousands of Chekhovs protested in Prague against pandemic measures – Aktuality.sk

Approximately 3,000 people protested against government pandemic measures on Sunday afternoon in Prague on Letná. The demonstration was organized by the Chcípl PES movement, writes the news portal iDNES.cz.

Dozens of police officers supervised the protesters on the spot, but the people did not keep safe distances and did not even wear a veil or respirators.

Resistance to vaccination

The police did not significantly interfere in the course of the event. In addition to the flags, the protesters also had a number of banners with slogans such as “Defend your children” or “Vaccine is business”. According to them, the most important thing is human freedom, which the state unacceptably restricts under the pretext of fighting the disease – they therefore spoke out against vaccination or government restrictions.

People in Prague also protested on the occasion of November 17, when more than 10,000 opponents of the measures gathered in the Old Town Square. The Wanted PES initiative was set up to protest against measures restricting the operation of restaurants.

As a political movement We will open the Czech Republic – Chcípl PES, this initiative ran in the October elections to the Chamber of Deputies, in which the movement won 0.4 percent of the vote. After the elections, dozens of smaller groups and parties that share a critical view of the government’s actions began to take part in its meetings, iDNES.cz recalls.
