Dordogne: a hunter killed by another hunter during a wild boar hunt – Franceinfo

A 70-year-old hunter was killed Sunday, November 28 by the shooting of another hunter during a wild boar beat in the Dordogne, reported the Bergerac prosecutor’s office. An investigation was opened for “manslaughter on a hunting action”, and entrusted to the gendarmerie and the French Biodiversity Office (OFB).

The facts took place around 10 am in the town of Campsegret, about fifteen kilometers north of Bergerac. The victim was “fatally injured” by a shot from another 60-year-old participant, when the latter opened fire “twice in the direction of a boar”, detailed the deputy prosecutor of Bergerac.

The author of the shot is in “State of shock” after this drama. He will be auditioned in the coming days by investigators. The trail of the accident is at this stage privileged, according to the prosecution.

Fatal hunting accidents are regularly used by its opponents to demand its ban.
