“The interministerial Covid monitoring committee announces the suspension of all direct passenger flights to the Kingdom of Morocco for two weeks, starting Monday, November 29, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. So starting Tuesday at zero o’clock.

“This decision comes due to the rapid spread of the new Omicron variant, particularly in Europe and Africa, and in order to preserve the gains made by Morocco in the fight against the pandemic.

“An assessment of the situation will be undertaken regularly in order to adjust the necessary measures if necessary”, concludes the press release relayed by the MAP agency.

The wording “to Morocco” suggests that flights from Morocco to abroad will be maintained for the moment. But reliable sources have told us that it is a total suspension of scheduled flights in both directions. Flights special repatriation will be authorized on a case-by-case basis, according to prior state-to-state agreement, to repatriate foreigners stranded in Morocco, such as tourists for example. So, suspension of all flights in both directions, possibility of special outgoing flights from Morocco.

With the suspension of passenger boats (see below) for the same duration and in both directions, it is therefore a question of closure of Morocco’s borders.
