According to the latest data from Public Health France, communicated on Saturday, November 27, 37,218 additional cases were recorded, or 2,782 more than yesterday and 14,540 additional cases compared to last week. In the past 24 hours, 34 people have died from Covid-19 in hospital, 26 less than yesterday and 10 more than last Saturday. In hospitals, the situation continues to worsen. In 24 hours, 388 new patients were admitted, 356 fewer than yesterday, and 119 more than last Saturday. Here is the detailed report:

• 7,588,400 cases confirmed by PCR (nursing home included), i.e. 37,218 more
• 118,871 deaths in total (nursing homes included), i.e. 34 more
• 91,959 deaths in hospital, i.e. 34 more 26,912 deaths in nursing homes (not updated)
• 9,271 people currently hospitalized, i.e. 90 more
• 1,617 people currently in intensive care, i.e. 54 more
• 388 new admitted to hospital (-356) and 102 in intensive care (-74)
• 435,027 people discharged from hospital, i.e. 252 more
• Test positivity rate: 5.43%, i.e. 0.13 point more
• Incidence rate: 250.91 cases / 100,000, i.e. 19.38 point more

According to last epidemiological point of Public Health France (SPF), published Thursday, November 25, “the circulation of SARS-CoV-2 has sharply accelerated throughout the metropolitan area and the increase in new hospitalizations and admissions in critical care has increased “. On average, 18,520 cases were diagnosed each day and the incidence rate exceeded 150 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants in all regions, except Brittany (141) and Normandy (120).

• In metropolitan France, the incidence rate increases in week 45 and goes to 193 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants (vs. 125 in W45, or + 55%). The screening rate was 3,948 / 100,000 (+ 18% compared to S45). The test positivity rate was on the rise (4.9%, vs. 3.7% in W45). The corrected incidence rate was sharply increasing in all age groups: the highest rates were observed among 30-39 year olds (268, + 48%), 40-49 year olds (225, + 54% ) and 20-29 year olds (217, + 44%).
• The number of hospitalizations on the rise. The indicators by date of admission showed 2,899 new hospitalizations in W46 (+ 20% compared to W45, where 2,409 new hospitalizations were counted) and 664 new admissions to critical care services (+ 16% compared to W45 , where 572 Covid patients were admitted to critical care).
• The Delta variant of the coronavirus is still the majority in France, more than 99% identified by sequencing during the latest Flash surveys.
• Vaccination against Covid-19 is still progressing: As of November 23, vaccination coverage from anti-Covid vaccine was estimated at 77.1% of the population for at least one dose, 75.5% for a full vaccination. Among those aged 65 and over, 35.5% had been injected with a booster dose.

As a reminder, the incidence rate corresponds to the number of new cases of Covid-19 over a period of one week, compared to the total population of a territory (country, region, department or municipality). This indicator is generally expressed in number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The screening rate gives the number of people who have tested for the coronavirus out of the total number of inhabitants, during the period. It is also expressed most often on 100,000 inhabitants. Finally, the test positivity rate gives the percentage of positive tests for the coronavirus, compared to the total number of tests carried out over the period.
