Police are investigating a tragic accident in which a pedestrian lost her life. Near the village of Holice, a 45-year-old woman parked her Škoda Fabia on the curb and entered the road. The passing truck driver managed to avoid her, but another unknown vehicle knocked the woman down.

The driver escaped from the scene and did not provide assistance to the woman. She succumbed to the injuries on the spot. Whether she was under the influence of alcohol, they will find out at autopsy.

The police checked one truck shortly after the accident, but the expert did not confirm the marks on it after the crash. The police also asked colleagues from the Bratislava region to cooperate in the search for the vehicle. The police continue to search for the vehicle as well as for the driver who caught the woman.

“We appeal to pedestrians and cyclists not to move on unlit roads and without reflective elements. Drivers have no chance of seeing you in the dark and rain. Protect your life and health, “said Zlatica Antalová, a spokeswoman for the Trnava police.
