Coronavirus in the Czech Republic: More than 20,000 more infected – SME.sk

PRAGUE. There were 20,315 cases in the Czech Republic on Friday coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

It is the fifth worst daily balance, but this figure is lower than on Thursday (27,752) and Friday last week (22,957), the Czech media reported on Saturday, referring to data from the Ministry of Health.

For the first time since the end of September, the weekly incidence has decreased: as of Friday, there were 1,127 people per 100,000 people in the past seven days, and 1,231 on Thursdays.

However, the incidence continues to rise week-on-week. One week ago, it was at the level of less than 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. It remains the highest in the Olomouc and Zlín regions.

The number of patients hospitalized in hospitals with COVID-19 decreased by 56 to 6169, of which 924 are in serious condition, which is two more than the day before. More than two months ago, 183 people were hospitalized and tested positive for covid, 28 of whom were in serious condition, the tn.cz portal recalls.

According to preliminary data, another 43 people died from the complications associated with the covid. In total, the pandemic in the Czech Republic has so far claimed 32,744 victims. The daily number of deaths began to exceed 100 again in the second half of November, so far five times.

Approximately 6,331,877 people are fully vaccinated in the Czech Republic. The third booster dose vaccines received over 771 thousand of them.
