The situation in hospitals has slightly improved, but again we have more than 10,000 positive – TVNOVINY.sk

The situation regarding new cases of COVID-19 is still very serious. We have 10,165 more positive ones on Wednesday (November 24), almost 71 percent of whom have not been vaccinated. They evaluated 30,620 tests in laboratories.

Of the positive ones, 967 were in the age group of 65 and over. “The most positive results of PCR tests (1984) were recorded in the age category from 35 to 44 years, of which 915 were men and 1069 women,” said NCZI spokeswoman Alžbeta Sivá.

The most positive were in the Žilina Region (1,792), followed by Banskobystrický (1,387), Trenčiansky (1,362), Bratislavský (1,286), Prešovský (1,209), Košický (1,194), Trnavský (1,060) and Nitriansky ( 875).

2,063 people had a positive antigen test, of whom more than 71 percent were not vaccinated.

According to Zuzana Eliášová, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health, the number of hospitalized people has decreased by 12, there are currently 3,188 patients in them. There are 291 patients in the JIS and 259 people need support for artificial lung ventilation. Almost 84 percent of patients are not vaccinated or have only one dose of vaccine.

The number of confirmed victims of the pulmonary form of COVID-19 increased by 51 people, so the total number of deaths from this disease is 14,107. The number of deaths with covid is 2,655.

Vaccination

The previous day, the first dose of the vaccine could be given to 5,302 people and the second to 1,432 people. The third dose vaccinated 12,829 people and has already received a total of 334,900.

From October 26, the registration for the third dose was launched for people over the age of 55, but also for patients with chronic diseases or people at risk. People over the age of 18 can also apply for it.

However, the ministry announced that it would like the third most vulnerable groups to receive the third dose. If people who feel they shouldn’t go to the third dose receive an invitation, they should contact their GP.
