Snow is coming to Slovakia. It will not only fall in the north, but also in lower positions. He points it out SHMÚ.

Longer-term predictions pointed to the end of this week. According to them, it should have snowed in our territory. The predictions of meteorologists, who already locate more precisely where the snow falls everywhere, now support them.

From Thursday to Friday, it will start raining in most areas at first, and experts expect snowfall, especially in higher mountain locations.

“However, around noon, it will start to cool down from the west and the rain will turn into snow, while in the extreme west this will happen even in the lowest positions,” SHMÚ writes on the social network.

Until Friday evening, it will snow the most in Záhorie, the border with the Czech Republic and also in the higher parts of central Slovakia.

“Cooling will continue on the night from Friday to Saturday, while relatively heavy rainfall is expected, especially at the beginning. It should also snow in a large part of central Slovakia and Spiš, “added meteorologists.

According to them, the worst situation with snow will be gradually in the extreme west and also in the higher mountain crossings almost anywhere in Slovakia. This will be the first extensive snowfall in this year’s winter season.

“The least snow will be in the south of the territory and in Zemplín, where it does not have to snow at all,” experts concluded.
