On Friday, the area of Central Europe is waiting for snow, which will bring the first snow, to several areas. Before the arrival of snow, meteorologists in individual countries are already urging drivers to be careful.
A preliminary warning was issued by Czech or Austrian meteorologists, for example. The approaching snowfall can bring the first snow to several areas where drivers still ride on summer tires. So it’s high time to put on the tires.
A major change in the nature of the weather awaits our area on Friday. The pressure below will begin to progress through our area, which will bring with it significant precipitation. At the same time, however, it will cool and, as a result, snowfall is expected in lower positions as well.
It will snow in several places in Austria
Austria is one of the countries that will receive the most abundant snowfall on Friday. It will snow practically all over Austria, including Vienna. The only exceptions will be some areas close to the Hungarian border, especially the Burgenland area.
Austrian meteorologists warn that heavy snowfall will arrive from the southwest on Friday morning and will gradually begin to spread towards Vienna, where it should start snowing on Friday morning.
The most abundant snow cover is expected in the Alps, where 30 to 40 cm of new snow will fall by Saturday morning. In the area of Salzburg, Tyrol, Upper Austria or Styria it can attack up to 20 cm of snow. In the area of Lower Austria it attacks up to 5-10 cm and about 1-3 cm is expected in Vienna.

Czech meteorologists are also warning against snowfall, who also plan to issue an official warning on Thursday morning. New areas of the Czech Republic are also waiting for new snow.
The least snow falls in the northwest, where numerical models expect up to 3 cm of new snow. They expect the most snow in the southeast, in the area of Moravia and especially in the vicinity of the Beskydy Mountains, where it can attack up to 10 cm of fresh snow.

On Friday, it will start raining in our territory at first, but during the afternoon, precipitation will also start to turn into snow in our territory.
It will snow in the lowest parts of Záhorie, in Kysucie and even in the northern parts of Bratislava. However, new snow cover awaits especially Záhorie and the north of Slovakia, where it will fall into 5 cm of new snow.
