BRATISLAVA. The Senate of the Specialized Criminal Court (ŠTS) in Pezinok sentenced Lehel Horváth, known as the gravedigger of the criminal group of the Danube-Central gang of sovators, to life imprisonment on Tuesday evening.

Lehel Horváth was charged with five murders and acts of supporting and conceiving a criminal group of Sátorovs.

Judgment is not valid. Lehel Horváth filed an appeal and his case will be dealt with by the Supreme Court (NS) of the Slovak Republic in the future.

“The ŠTS Senate found the accused LH guilty of a particularly serious crime of assassination and others and imposed a total life imprisonment with a maximum security sentence. The court also sentenced the defendant to forfeiture of property,” she told TASR ŠTS Katarína Kudjáková.

Co-defendant Ivan K. ŠTS was found guilty of the crime of theft and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment with a suspended sentence of a probationary period of two years.

“The verdict is not valid, as the accused LH filed an appeal against him and the accused IK will comment within the statutory time limit. The appeals will be decided by the National Council of the Slovak Republic,” Kudjáková added.

The last day of the trial lasted almost nine hours before ŠTS, and the last word from the defendant lasted more than two hours.

Lehel Horváth insisted that he had been charged illegally. At the same time that the entire criminal proceedings against him were illegal. On Tuesday, the court granted the prosecutor of the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, who had already nominated him for life in mid-November.

In addition to the aforementioned five murders, Lehel Horváth was charged and for the acts of supporting and conceiving a criminal group of Sátorovs, also for stealing 45.5 million Slovak crowns from a safe deposit box in Dunajská Streda.

Among the murdered was also the barefoot group Ľudovít Sátor, to whom Lehel Horváth confessed.

The process began in February this year. Horváth has so far been still being prosecuted. The prosecutor of the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s Office filed a charge against him in September 2020.

Among the other victims were white horses, but also one of the other bosses of the gang, Andrej Reisz. He was called the group’s accountant. The “Undertaker” was to assassinate him in 2006 in agreement with other members of the Sátorov group.

According to the indictment, the first murder of Čab Karika was to take place as early as 2003. The defendant shot his victims and ground them in a meat grinder. He buried them in the area of ​​the former cooperative in Čótfa near Dunajská Streda.
