According to the latest proposal, Matovič allegedly wants to ensure that employees and sole traders pay fair taxes. SZČO, which they charge, should have a quarter lower contributions than employees. According to his proposal, self-employed people who have become accustomed to flat-rate expenses should pay a flat-rate tax of 29%, which would include the tax and all levies. “With one payment of all his income, he has settled everything against the state,” sketched by the minister.

How do you evaluate the fourth part of the presented tax and tax reform of Matovič on SZČO taxation and changes in the gastro sector?

I hope this is just the beginning of the debate on self-employment taxation. The proposed conditions significantly increase the taxation of SZČO, which will have negative effects on their number. There is a big difference in the livelihood of a self-employed person and an employee, and it is not right to compare them in such a simplistic way. If the life of a self-employed person were so simple and advantageous, their number would continue to grow, and we see the opposite, 400 thousand self-employed persons were last in 2008, today only a little more than 300 thousand. The proposed flat tax is very high, four times higher than in the Czech Republic.

The reduction in VAT for gastronomy is welcome, unfortunately it has been associated with the regulation of gratuity payments, which will create complications and ambiguities – the minister actually assumes that every customer wants to pay gratuities. This proposal makes it clear that the payments that are being made today can be legalized as much as possible today. The problem, however, is that the workload is too high.

If the minister had not designed such an expensive social package, he could have offered a lower workload to the waiters as well. We consider the measures by which the Minister wants to set prices and quality of services in restaurants to be inappropriate. The state should regulate taxes and enforce hygiene standards. What prices and services in restaurants are a concern for entrepreneurs and the sovereign power of customers.

If the Minister of Finance starts managing water jugs today, will he manage the price and quality of hairstyles, massages, or regulate the paid tailors paid tomorrow?

What do you say to the recreational and gastro bonus of 300 euros for vaccinated people over 60 years of age? What is the point and how expensive this move will be for the state if the reform as a whole passes in this state?

If this measure came half a year ago, it could have had a positive impact on current morbidity and mortality rates. Unfortunately, we had an unnecessary lottery instead. This bonus will have no effect on today’s wave. In the future, some of those who wanted to be vaccinated will also create conditions for postponing the vaccination, because the government will certainly come up with some candy for the next vaccination, we will wait. The financial (in) benefit of the bonus is difficult to evaluate without adequate data. But the question for the minister is – if the 4th dose is needed in a year – will such a bonus be repeated?
