Czech experts have proposed mandatory vaccination of people by age – SME.sk

PRAGUE. The Czech Government Council for Health Risks has supported the introduction of compulsory vaccination against the new one coronavirus for people over 60 years of age.

The Czech Prime Minister said this at Tuesday’s press conference Andrej Babiš, informs the news portal Novinky.cz.

The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic added that the Ministry of Health will decide on compulsory vaccination against covid for certain professions next Tuesday at the latest. These would be, for example, paramedics or workers of the integrated rescue system and employees of social services.

According to Babiš, compulsory vaccination for some professional groups should enter into force in February next year, ie on the same date as in Austria, where, however, there is an obligation for all residents.

Babiš also stated that the interval for the third dose should be shortened from December vaccines of the current six to five months after the second dose.

Due to the deteriorating epidemic situation, the Czech government discussed a possible state of emergency on Monday, but did not do so in the end. Babiš explained that he did not have enough support even to introduce a lockdown.
