Igor Matovic presented changes for self-employed persons: He stated how much they should pay to the state – TVNOVINY.sk

Self-employed persons should pay the state a 29 percent levy or tax. This is proposed by the Minister of Finance Igor Matovič as part of his tax reform.

If SZČO now applies flat-rate expenses, they will pay only one flat-rate tax of 29 percent. According to Matovič, such a flat tax would in fact be the sum of income tax and social and health contributions.

“With one payment of all his income, he has settled everything against the state,” the minister outlined.

According to him, in the case of a withholding flat tax, there would be no registration, the self-employed person would not have to keep accounts and he would not receive an inspection. He would register in the application.

For those who charge real expenses, he proposes a similar system as for employees, they would just not pay 39 percent, but 29 percent. And also a 19 percent tax.

“The whole state is on the shoulders of employees, self-employed people contribute a fraction of the state,” he said.
