The Chief Hygienist of the Czech Republic Pavla Svrčinová supports compulsory vaccination against the new one coronavirus. She stated this on Monday morning in an interview for the Radiožurnál station.

According to Svrčinová, vaccination is currently the only way to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. “Unfortunately, there is no other way than the mandatory vaccination,” she said.

There is a state of emergency in the game

The Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch will propose a declaration of a state of emergency to the government. The measure would allow medics to help hospitals that face a large influx of coronavirus patients. At present, 4,900 patients with covid are hospitalized in the Czech Republic, I write novinky.cz.

The Czech Republic declared a state of emergency for the coronavirus first last March 12 and later on October 5 last year. It was extended several times and ended on April 11 this year. It lasted a total of 254 days. Measures against the spread of the disease are currently issued under the Pandemic Act, but it will expire at the end of February 2022.

On Friday, the government of incumbent Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš decided to tighten measures against the spread of the new coronavirus. Among other things, it introduced compulsory testing of unvaccinated employees and comprehensive weekly testing of primary and secondary school pupils and students, and recommended working from home for civil servants.

According to Svrčinová, the effect of anti-pandemic measures manifests itself with a delay of one to ten days, and a possible further tightening of the rules could take place after this time.

Number of new cases

On Sunday, 8,244 new cases of coronavirus infections occurred in the Czech Republic. This is the highest Sunday number so far. 715 people are in very serious condition in the hospitals.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 32,173 people have died of coronavirus in the Czech Republic. 562 of them died last week, an average of about 80 patients a day.
