On Spotify, all albums will now be played in order thanks to Adele – Frandroid

While Shuffle mode was the default on Spotify, singer Adele pushed the platform to keep the classic playing order for albums.

Until now, the default listening mode on Spotify has been shuffle play. In the most played titles of an artist, on a playlist or even in an album, the platform of music streaming gave pride of place to fashion “Shuffle”, playing one title after another without any predefined order. A trend that may have exasperated several artists. Singer Adele, on the occasion of the release of her new album 30, however, succeeded in bringing about a change.

As the site reports EngadgetAdele has indeed changed the practice of Spotify for albums. From now on, the default listening mode for an album on the streaming service will simply be the order of the tracks. A way to respect the way they were designed and a change welcomed by the British singer on Twitter.

The shuffle mode remains accessible, in the playback screen

This new mode of reading, in the order of the songs, may have been pushed by Adele, it is now proposed by default for all the albums available on Spotify, regardless of the artist.

For users subscribed to the music streaming platform, this shouldn’t change much. Except when they want to read an album, the default playback mode remains in effect random playback, whether on a playlist or when they are on the general page of an artist.

Moreover, even for playing albums, it is still possible to select the shuffle mode. To do this, after launching the playback of a first title, all you have to do is go to the playback page, then select the Shuffle icon (?) to the left of the play buttons. The following titles will then be played at random.
