Lockdown for the unvaccinated

The government is introducing the so-called lockdown for the unvaccinated, Prime Minister Heger announced last week. According to him, the new COVID machine significantly tightens the measures for the unvaccinated in red, burgundy and black, ie currently in all districts. According to him, the unvaccinated are the most endangered, they do so for their protection. The prime minister explained that the new COVID vending machine is being introduced to stabilize the critical situation in hospitals. He stressed that this would be a temporary solution, he expects it to take three weeks. Subsequently, the next step could be to relax the measures for the vaccinated. He challenged everyone to get vaccinated.

A new category “OP” was created

The Public Health Office has issued two new decrees to comply with the new version of the COVID vending machine, which was approved by the government on Thursday. Decrees published in the Gazette of the Government of the Slovak Republic entered into force today on Monday and regulate the activities of operations and the organization of mass events.

Changes at restaurant events

Weddings, celebrations, parties or other events in public catering establishments will not be possible from now on in the OTP mode (vaccinated / tested / overcoming the disease). This applies to red, burgundy and black districts. This follows from the decree of the Public Health Office (ÚVZ) SR. In the basic mode, ie regardless of the test or vaccination, it is not possible to organize events in any of the colors of the COVID machine. The reason, according to ÚVZ, is that this is a high-risk activity. Weddings, celebrations, parties or other events in public catering establishments can be organized only in the red and burgundy districts, in the new OP regime (vaccinated / outdated) with a maximum of twenty people. At the same time, the organizer is always obliged to keep a list and contacts of the participants for fourteen days after the end of the event. he is obliged to destroy them.

The new measures also apply to swimming pools. At present, only the OP regime is possible in artificial swimming pools, wellness facilities or spas in the red, burgundy and black districts. Thus, entry against COVID-19 and those who have survived the disease is allowed entry. This follows from the decree of the Public Health Office (ÚVZ) SR. In the red districts, the capacity can be filled to 50 percent during the OP regime at artificial swimming pools, and at 25 per cent in the burgundy. In the black districts, there can be a maximum of ten people at the swimming pool. Restrictions also apply to aqua parks, wellness, natural and healing spas. In the red districts, they can only operate in the OP mode with a maximum of ten visitors. Wellness facilities, which are part of accommodation facilities and provide services exclusively to accommodated customers, are not subject to capacity restrictions. Only wellness facilities that are part of the accommodation facilities can operate in the burgundy districts. At the same time, the limit of ten people applies. Water parks, wellness and spas are prohibited in the black districts.

Single limit for a mass event

For mass events, 200 people in red, 100 people in burgundy and 50 people in black should apply for the OP regime. The green districts and the orange districts are to be unrestricted for the OP regime. To enter the OTP mode, the capacity limit for red, burgundy and black districts is six people. Basic mode mass events are to be banned for the red, burgundy and black districts.

From now on, the OTP regime at workplaces will not be mandatory yet

The Office of Public Health (ÚVZ) of the Slovak Republic has not ordered employers to apply the OTP (vaccinated – tested – overcoming COVID-19) regime at the workplace. At present, inter-ministerial negotiations are still underway for the mandatory introduction of the OTP regime at workplaces. “Logistics and other necessary processes at the level of the relevant departments are being addressed,” ÚVZ spokeswoman Dáša Račková explained the reason for the postponement.

Restrictions also apply to those vaccinated

Vaccines will also have restrictions; fitness centers, spas and restaurants will be completely closed in the black districts. The sale of food in restaurants in the black districts will be possible only through the window and through delivery. Accommodation for all remains prohibited in black districts. The only exceptions are quarantined accommodation and business trips.
