Christmas is coming very soon. The Champs-Elysées put on their festive clothes, Sunday, November 21, with the launch of the illuminations. The socialist mayor of Paris and the singer Clara Luciani, godmother of the event, launched the festivities in the company of two young patients from the association Petits Prince. Marc-Antoine Jamet, president of the Champs-Elysées Committee, were also on site.

The avenue will be illuminated in red every evening between 5 p.m. and 2 a.m., until January 8. On the evenings of December 24 and December 31, the Champs-Elysées will be exceptionally illuminated all night long.

A plan to strengthen the security of the Champs-Elysées was activated on November 18 in anticipation of the crowds expected during the end-of-year celebrations.
