From Monday, companies can check the OTP status of employees – TVNOVINY.sk

Companies and employers can now check that their employees are vaccinated, have overcome COVID-19, or have a negative PCR or antigen test. However, as of Monday, November 22, they cannot yet prevent their employees from entering the workplace if they do not prove it with one of the documents. This will only be made possible by a decree of the Public Health Office (ÚVZ) of the Slovak Republic, which will be published in the coming days. Zuzana Eliášová, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health (MZ) of the Slovak Republic, informed about it.

“If the employees do not prove any of the above certificates after the decree is issued, they will not be able to start work and at the same time it will be considered an obstacle on the part of the employee, ie they will not be entitled to wages and compensation from the state.”

According to the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic, the decree will require confirmation of vaccination or overcoming COVID-19 to enter the workplace. The alternative will be a negative PCR or antigen test, or a test or self-test passed directly to the employer.

According to the spokesperson, the Ministry of Health is intensively negotiating with the Ministries of Labor and Economy on the method of compensation for employers who decide to provide testing for their employees. “Possibilities of financial compensation or providing tests to employers are considered,” she added.

According to Eliáš, the interested institutions will immediately inform the public, employers and local governments about the date of publication and effectiveness of the Decree of the ÚVZ SR, as well as about the method of cooperation with employers and putting the OTP condition for employees into practice.

According to the COVID vending machine, the OTP (vaccinated-tested-outdone) regime should apply to entering employment in the red, burgundy and black districts.
