An English group specializing in exceptional wines won this Sunday, November 21 in Beaune the auction of the charity coin.

Historical. It was believed to have broken a record last year with 660,000 for the Presidents’ coin benefiting caregivers and victims of COVID. But what about the 800,000 euros reached this Sunday for the 161st Hospices de Beaune wine sale?
Pio Marmaï did not do comedy. He performed the show and the auction therefore rose to 800,000 for the President’s coin. “We are a young group based in London. We buy parts every year. We are for the cause of women. And cancer research touches me, because my mom had cancer, ”explained one of the buyers.

It was a Corton Les Renardes Grand Cru. Okay, that’s almost 3000 euros per bottle with the costs … But when you love and for good causes, it doesn’t count. And cancer research, as well as the fight against violence against women, have caused the stakes to soar.
