Banknotes spilling from an armored vehicle onto a highway in the US state of California caused enormous chaos and temporarily halted traffic. The incident occurred Friday morning local time in San Diego County, the BBC reported on Saturday.

Filmed by fitness influencer Demi Bagby, the video captures the journey and people collecting and rejoicing in one-dollar and twenty-dollar bills. “This is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen,” Bagby says in the video.

Police arrested two people on the spot and called on everyone who managed to seize several banknotes to return them.

“If there were several TVs on the highway, you wouldn’t be able to just take them,” said Jim Bettencourt, a highway police officer.

According to another highway police officer, many people have already contacted the authorities and returned the collected banknotes. “People bring a lot,” he said without specifying specific numbers. “They raised a lot of money there,” he added.
