Coronavirus in the Czech Republic: 14,402 infected – SME.sk

PRAGUE. Laboratories in the Czech Republic detected 14,402 new cases on Saturday coronaviruswhich is the highest weekend number ever since the beginning of the pandemic.

This is an increase of more than 5,000 cases compared to last week, informs the TN.cz portal of the Czech television Nova.

The number of hospitalizations with covid decreased

There are usually fewer tests over the weekend, but more than 60,000 PCRs and a total of 30,691 antigen tests were performed on Saturdays. These are therefore comparable numbers of samples taken as in the last two working weeks.

The number of patients hospitalized with Covid-19 has decreased from 5,040 to 4,818 patients per day, 713 of whom are in serious condition.

A total of 1,995,291 people have already been confirmed in the Czech Republic, 32,079 of them have died, according to data from the Czech Ministry of Health.

The incidence is approaching one thousand

In the Czech Republic, the incidence of seven days, ie the number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants per week, currently reaches the value of 978 (the day before it was 929). The worst are the districts of Šumperk with 1537.09 infected per 100,000 inhabitants, Olomouc with 1521 and Vyškov with 1498.89 cases.

The covid vaccine was given to 15,346 people on Saturday.

A total of more than 13 million doses of vaccines have already been administered, more than 6.2 million people have completed vaccinations, and approximately 615,000 people have had a booster dose, TN.cz summarizes.
