A court in the Pakistani city of Lahore has drafted a written verdict that will allow the release of Czech Tereza Hlůšková. Thanks to this verdict, he may be released in the coming days after how she was acquitted at the beginning of the month from accusations of heroin smuggling, the news portal iDnes.cz informed on Friday.

“I confirm the draft. Our embassy was informed of the verdict today. Thus, the procedural act necessary for the release of the Czech citizen was fulfilled, “Eva Davidová, a spokeswoman for the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told iDnes.cz.

The release form has already been signed by Pakistani judges. Hlůšková is thus definitely innocent and can leave the prison in Lahore, where she spent almost four years.

“The release of (Hlůšková) should follow in a few hours or days, we expect him tomorrow (Saturday, November 20),” said Davidová.

However, the Czech Ministry of Diplomacy refuses to publish information related to Hlůšková’s return to the Czech Republic because her family does not want it.

The release document states that the original judgment was inconsistent with the facts and no specific evidence was substantiated. According to David, the police investigator who dealt with the Hlůšková case did not send the detained narcotics for examination.

Hlůšková was detained in January 2018 at a Pakistani airport with almost nine kilos of heroin. From the beginning, the Czech Republic claimed that the seized drugs did not belong to her and that someone pushed them into her suitcase. Hlůšková stated that she flew to Pakistan at that time to work as a model. However, the court did not believe her, sentencing her to eight years and eight months in prison.

According to the Pakistani news portal UrduPoint, the drugs that Hlůšková transported would be worth 19.5 million Czech crowns (768,000 euros) on the black market.
