Covid today Slovakia, record of 9,171 infections: never so many

Record of Covid infections in Slovakia where 9,171 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the last 24 hours, the highest number since the outbreak of the pandemic. This was reported by the Slovakian Ministry of Health, indicating that in recent days there has been an average of over 6,500 new infections. Earlier this week in the country, where 5.5 million people live, was introduced what Prime Minister Eduard Heger called a “lockdown for the unvaccinated”. Covid-19 tests in the workplace are also among the new measures introduced. Slovakia has so far administered at least 4,895,694 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, or to approximately 44.9% of the population. Since the start of the pandemic in Slovakia, 13,818 coronavirus-related deaths have been reported.
