Coronavirus in Slovakia: 9,171 new cases and 37 covid deaths – SME.sk

BRATISLAVA. PCR tests in Slovakia on Friday revealed another 9,171 cases of infection coronavirus, which is the highest daily increment since the beginning of the pandemic. Almost 71 percent of them have not been vaccinated.

The laboratories tested 27,267 PCR samples. The positivity of the tested samples was 33.63 percent.

The National Health Information Center informs about it.

This is the first time that the daily increase in those infected from PCR tests has exceeded 9,000. The previous record fell on Tuesday (8,342).

Another 37 people died of Covid-19, and a total coronavirus pandemic claimed 13,818 victims in Slovakia.

The number of hospitalized has approached the number of 3,000, increasing by 52 to 2,997 on Friday. Of the patients, almost 82 percent are not vaccinated or have only one dose of vaccine.

There are 268 people in the intensive care units, and 256 need support for artificial lung ventilation.

More than 7,000 people were vaccinated with the first dose

Yesterday, the medics gave the first dose vaccines 7,310 people, a total of 2,573,797 people are vaccinated in this way.

There are 2,438,332 people vaccinated in Slovakia.
