A new secretary of Public Security is appointed in Zacatecas, Mexico

(CNN Spanish) – The governor of the Mexican state of Zacatecas, David Monreal Ávila, reported this Friday that he appointed a new secretary of state Public Security in the midst of what he called “the fight to regain tranquility and peace in our state,” according to wrote in a Twitter message.

Monreal was sworn in by General Adolfo Marín, it was explained in the social media publication.

The governor added that with the swearing in “the primary objective is to guarantee that the rule of law prevails with concrete actions.”

Marín’s appointment comes hours after the bodies of 10 men, nine of whom were suspended from a vehicular bridge, were found this Thursday morning on a highway in the municipality of Cuauhtémoc, the Zacatecas state government confirmed through of a statement.
