Covid Germany, today the green light for new restrictions

In Germany, the Bundesrat today approves the new package of restrictions aimed at countering the new, violent wave of Covid that is sweeping the country. The approval of the German upper house comes after yesterday the German chancellor Angela Merkel and the leaders of the 16 regional governments agreed on a series of measures to fight Covid-19 infections and strengthen vaccination. Yesterday the Bundestag, the lower house of Parliament, approved the legislative package, supported by Social Democrats, Greens and Liberals who are dealing with the formation of the new government, which provides, among other things, access to workplaces and public transport on the basis of ‘3G’ (vaccinated, healed and tested), but excludes the closure of schools and shops.
