Building on the success of its Mi Smart Band 5 offered at a good value for money, Xiaomi renews its connected bracelet with the sixth generation. The latter has many practical features to use on a daily basis, such as tracking your activity, receiving notifications, in short what can be found on most connected bracelets these days. But this new model differs by incorporating a new sensor that will allow analysis of the level of oxygen saturation in the blood (SpO2). Xiaomi’s connected bracelet thus becomes more complete and more interesting, especially as it benefits from a 43% reduction, almost half the price.

But if you want a connected watch instead, the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite costs only 6 euros more compared to the Mi Smart Band 6.

Almost always the same design …

the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 is the latest addition to the range, and yet it is difficult to differentiate it from previous models. Indeed, we find the same shape, discreet oval with an interchangeable silicone strap. There is still a change which is appreciable on this new model, it is at the level of the screen which gains in size, going from 1.1 inches to 1.56 inches. And thanks to this gain, this beautiful AMOLED screen offers better definition (152 x 486 pixels against 126 x 294 pixels) but also a sharper display quality, whatever the situation, as well as three levels of brightness. However, we will not be able to count on an ambient light sensor.

Year after year, the Chinese manufacturer keeps enlarging the screen of his connected bracelet and for the Mi Band 6 this is a good thing, as it is able to show notifications from your phone. On the other hand, you will not be able to reply to your messages and emails from your wrist, but only to consult them. Apart from that, the bracelet will vibrate if you set an alarm clock or someone calls you, it will display the weather forecast, the time or allow you to control the music on your phone.

More comprehensive activity monitoring and enduring autonomy

This bracelet will above all accompany you on a daily basis by offering a complete and convincing activity monitoring. It is made up of many sensors capable of measuring your activity. There is therefore an accelerometer, a gyroscope and a heart rate monitor that analyzes your heart rate. But for the first time, Xiaomi incorporates a blood oxygenation sensor, a Sp02, but unfortunately in our test we found that it is not used very well. Alternatively, the Band 6 can measure daily steps, calories burned, stress analysis, sleep tracking, and now supports 30 sports activities – 6 of which are automatically recognized. We regret the absence of an integrated GPS for better accuracy and NFC, while a version for contactless payment is available, but unfortunately not in France.

Finally, autonomy has not been neglected on this model. This Mi Smart Band 6 can accompany you on a daily basis for up to 8 days without the Sp02 activated, and up to 14 days in standby mode. As for recharging, it will take about 1h30 to fill the battery. Note also that this model has a magnetic charging system and can withstand water up to 50 meters.
