Black Friday ahead of time: the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G is no exception – Frandroid

An elegant smartphone

For this “Fan Edition” (hence the FE), Samsung has bet on a flat screen, and not a curved one, 6.5 inches for its Galaxy S20 FE 5G, with borders all the same less thin than on the other references of the S20 range, but without this being very disturbing. We will also be entitled to a mat plastic coating, which also reduces the cost of manufacture, and therefore its selling price. Above all, the smartphone will integrate a Super AMOLED panel refreshed to 120 Hz, which is the assurance of very good fluidity on the content side. However, this mode will not be adaptive, but you can manually switch to 60 Hz mode so as not to drain the battery too quickly.

A more efficient 5G version

If the 4G version of this model includes an Exynos 990 to ensure its performance, the latter will be significantly higher on the 5G version thanks to its Snapdragon 865 chip. Power will therefore be required, and this configuration will be more than sufficient to run the applications. Android and run some greedy 3D games without slowing down. To top it all off, the S20 FE 5G comes with comfortable 128 GB storage, expandable via microSD up to 1 TB. On the user experience side, the One UI interface will ensure convenient and responsive navigation.

An honorable capacity in photo

As for the photo module, we can count on a main sensor of 12 megapixels, an ultra wide-angle of 12 megapixels and a telephoto x3 of 8 megapixels. We are far from the versatility promised by the other more expensive S20s, but this one will still defend itself very well with precise shots, with beautiful details in full light. Photos taken at night will be satisfactory, despite some noise and blur in some situations.

Finally, on the autonomy side, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G has a 4,500 mAh battery, which will make it last a whole day without worry, or even more, even with the 120 Hz mode activated. We owe this energy efficiency above all to the power of the Snapdragon 865. The smartphone will also be compatible with fast charging up to 25 W, wireless charging up to 15 W as well as reverse wireless charging.
