On Tuesday (November 16), 8342 cases of infection with the new coronavirus were detected in 26,545 RT-PCR tests. There were 43 victims.

The National Center for Health Information (NCZI) informs about it on the website covid-19.nczisk.sk.

“There were 8342 positive people tested by PCR tests. Almost 71 percent of them were not vaccinated, “said Zuzana Eliášová, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health (MZ) of the Slovak Republic.

According to Eliášová, the most positively tested RT-PCR tests were in the Košice region, the least in the Trnava region.

2879 hospitalized patients with confirmed COVID-19 disease are hospitalized. Of the hospitalized, more than 81 percent are not vaccinated at all or only partially vaccinated. There are 253 patients at JIS, 246 people need support for artificial lung ventilation.

Elijah said that there were 43 deaths of patients who died of pulmonary COVID-19. Thirteen patients positive for COVID-19 died from other causes.

Vaccination

The total number of people vaccinated with the first dose of the vaccine is 2,555,557. The second dose of the vaccine was given to 2,328,745 people, and 1133 people were vaccinated last day.

Antigen testing

Zuzana Eliášová added that there were also 1959 positive cases in the form of antigen testing. More than 73 percent of them have not been vaccinated yet.
