BRATISLAVA – Sad day for Slovak hockey. On Tuesday, November 16, the last farewell took place with the general director of the iClinic Bratislava Capitals club, Dušan Pašek Jr. The tragic death of the former player of Bratislava Slovan, HC Košice or hockey Skalice affected the whole of Slovakia. Pašek, 36, came to life in the same way as his father.

The shocking news of the former hockey player’s death came in just two days after the striker Boris Sádecký, whose heart failed, died at the same club at the age of 24.

The farewell to the well-known name of Slovak hockey took place in the Bratislava crematorium at 12:30 p.m. Many people came to say goodbye to the eternally smiling “Cecom” and the familiar faces of Slovak hockey were also present.

SZĽH President Miroslav Šatan and former boss Igor Nemeček were among the mourning guests. Žigmund Pálffy, the general manager of the Slavic hockey team Maroš Krajči and many others also came to honor his memory. Hockey players and colleagues from the iClinic Bratislava Capitals club also came with a big bouquet.

Dusan Pasek Jr. he followed in his father’s footsteps

Dusan Pašek ml. he was the son of the legendary forward Slovan Bratislava and the Czechoslovak national team Dušan Pašeka st. The famous “Ceco” also died tragically when, when he was shot dead in his office on March 14, 1998, the death of the then president of the Slovak Ice Hockey Association (SZĽH) was officially concluded as suicide.

Dusan Pašek ml. was a pupil of Bratislava hockey. He made his debut in the Slovan A-team in the 2003/2004 season, and in the following year he was looking forward to winning the championship title with the Bratislava club. From the year 2006/2007 he was a player of Skalice, where he spent three seasons. Then he moved to HC Košice, in the match against Banská Bystrica on November 23, 2010 he recorded his first hat-trick in the highest Slovak competition. At the end of the season, he enjoyed winning his second extra-league title. In February 2016, he decided to end his playing career due to long-term health problems.
