TE Rostas lost another court. This time with MP Benčík – TVNOVINY.sk

Publisher and editor-in-chief of the magazine Zem a vek Tibor Eliot Rostas lost another court. He has to pay MP 33,000 euros, all court costs and a public apology to MP Ján Benčík in a national newspaper.

The reason is Rostas’ false statements in the mentioned magazine and unjustified interference with the civic honor of the deputy. In March 2017, an article entitled – Ján Benčík covers neo-Nazis and endangers the lives of Slovak citizens was published in the monthly. It wrote, among other things, that the MP’s blogs expose through the Daily N “the lives of citizens and journalists who are located in the territory of eastern Ukraine, in the so-called. Republic of Donetsk, threat. ”

Benčík published the decision of the Bratislava District Court, which is valid, on the social network. In the statute, he states that Rostas himself called him to file a lawsuit.

Three weeks ago, the Supreme Court upheld a fine of 4,000 euros for an article from May 2017 in the aforementioned magazine called Klin Židov mezi Slovanmi. He quoted alleged ideas from various personalities in Slovak history, in which they expressed negative attitudes towards the Jewish community.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the team circulated and disseminated extremist materials and committed such an act in public. He further publicly denounced a group of people for their true or perceived affiliation with a race, nation, or religion.
